Thirumakan is a distinguished professional, holding the designation of Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka, Fellow Certified Management Accountant (FCMA – Sri Lanka), and Associate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Additionally, Thirumakan holds a Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. With over 11 years of extensive experience, Thirumakan specializes in Internal Auditing, Risk Advisory, and Consulting. Thirumakan has served diverse corporate clients across sectors including Investments, Finance, Leasing, Manufacturing, Oilfield Services, Fund Management, and Real Estate. Notably, Thirumakan has also undertaken consulting engagements, including External Quality Assessment of internal audit departments for public listed companies in Oman. Previously, Thirumakan held the position of Manager Internal Audit in a reputable financial services company in Sri Lanka, where valuable experience in internal audit and risk consulting was gained.
